Greeting from our Pastor
It has been my desire since the first days of ministry to see the Body of Christ matured by God’s word. There is a real need in the body of Christ today for stability. This stability comes from only one source, God’s Word. With so many winds of doctrine flying around today it can be very difficult to discern that which is truth, from that which is error. It is my hope and prayer that our ministry can help you locate God’s truth; for the truth can and will set you free. May the Lord keep you in these times as you are pressing in for a deeper relationship with Him.
Connecting people to build family affection for the purpose of, One Body, One Spirit and One Hope of the calling of Christ. Ephesians 4:4
In the training stage the focus is helping believers grow to a place where they can hear the Word of God for personal change. In cultivating commitment & establishing consistency the proper foundation can be built, helping them realize who they are in Christ and how the Holy Spirit works in their life. The emphasis on the practical applications of the Word helps them bring discipline to the flesh, grow spiritually and become a better witness for Christ.
A stable Christian is one who has good fellowship with Christ which translates into good fellowship with others. Stable Christians take responsibility and are dependable both for the work of the ministry and the daily interactions and relationships of life. At this stage of development believers will be pressing in to hear the voice of the Lord to a greater degree. Because they can hear His voice, they are not easily moved off the foundation of the Word despite adversity and failings in others. They are a house which is built on the rock. Mathew 7: 24-25
In this stage an individual is ready to be used of God to a much greater degree. They are not easily offended because they have the attitude of a servant. They are more interested in what they can put into other’s lives and serving them rather than being served. They are givers in every area of their lives. Love is not just something that is talked about; it is something that is lived (1 Corinthians 13). A mature Christian is a perpetual learner and a perpetual witness, not only through their words, but through their actions, habits and character.
What we believe
The Authority of the Word of God
All scripture is given by the inspiration of God (2 Tim. 3:16)
There is one God eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit (John 15:26)
Jesus is God
In the diety of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His Virgin Birth, in His Bodily Resurrection and His Ascension to the right hand of the Father
Jesus + nothing = Salvation
That the only means of cleansing from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious blood of Christ
The Holy Spirit lives within us
That the in-filling of the Holy Spirit is given to believers of Jesus who ask for it (Acts2:4)
Taking the Communion Together
In the communion table of our Lord Jesus Christ for restoring fellowship of believers in the Body of Christ (1 Cor. 11:17-34)
In the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit at work within the believers “Born Again” spirit, enabling them to live a holy life
Personal Forgiveness & Discipline
The daily cleansing of the believer (1 John 1:7-9)
Prayer & Healing
The redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing of the human body in answer to believing prayer
Jesus is Coming Back
In the blessed hope of His future return to this earth to receive His Blood-bought church forever
The Final Judgement & End Times
In the resurrection of the saved and lost; the one to everlasting life and the other to everlasting damnation
During the week there are many opportunities for everyone to get connected into the life of the Church. We seek to continually grow in our relationship with Jesus and with one another. The central focus in many of our events is just that: connection. We have many different fellowship ministries that you can easily get involved with right away. Ask an usher at any service or look through the Events section in the Website to gain more information immediately.

here for you
Pastor Jann has been leading By His Word since 1983. His passion is to lead you to the truth of what God's word says and for you to know God for yourself, not just what is preached from the pulpit.
Pastor John Scheerer has served at byHisword since the mid-80's. John's passion is to create an environment and experience where you feel safe and comfortable and also inspire you to contribute to the body of Christ in your own way.
Pastor Tammy Haywood has been serving at byHisword since the mid-80's. Her passion is lead you on a path towards true worship at God's feet, letting God's presence strengthen and change you.
February 8th, 1983 Pastor Jann Butler witnessed God’s plan for his ministry unfold before him. In faith, Jann had told the landlord that their church was 200 members. What the landlord didn’t know was that the “church” had never held a service yet! That Sunday morning, over 220 adults and 80 children attended By His Word’s first service.
Pastor Jann is all too familiar with the miraculous in his life. He has seen Jesus provide, heal and speak in ways that only God could get the glory for.
Throughout the 35 years that By His Word has been a church, there have been many things that have tried to unravel us, but God knows what He wants to accomplish with us. Join in our journey of serving people and living by God’s word and in His love.
byHisword was founded on the biblical truth that what God’s Word says to us is what we can rely on. If we train our spiritual ears to hear God’s voice, we can do what seems impossible, we can overcome anything that we face in this life. That is Pastor Jann’s heart for people: that they would know God personally and hear His voice for themselves—that no fallible man would limit how far you can go with God. Our Father is limitless and has given us that same ability through faith in Christ Jesus.
As a church, we aim to better serve the needs of people, and the heart of this ministry is to see people do the things that Christ did. Just like Jesus coming to earth from heaven, we will, together, reach people right where they are at, not forcing them to change before following Christ, but letting God’s love change them.
We will be making content that will be shared throughout the world to reach people that would never have an opportunity to come to By His Word.
The label LVNG(Living) is the “rooftop” that we will be using to make God known.
Over the next decade, we desire to see people influence those around them. We believe that you can change your world with God’s help. Throughout your journey with Jesus, you will transform the way you see the world around you. Jesus sent us the Holy Spirit to personally guide us. We know that He will teach us to live our life in victory and shine a light in the world.
The story of God’s grace in your life is going to speak to others and give hope to people with broken hearts. Once we see how much we need Jesus, we can realize how much those around us need Jesus, too.
In the years to come, By His Word is dedicated to reaching your community and showing them how God’s Word is the truth that sets them free.
