Meet Our Team

In January of 1975, he was called to the Five-Fold ministry as an Evangelist/Teacher.  Jann moved to Tulsa in 1979 to enroll in Rhema Bible Training Center.  He graduated in 1980 and moved to Tacoma and in 1983 established By His Word Christian Center.  In 1987 he became Regional Director for Rhema ministerial Association International for the Pacific Northwest.  Ministering for over 35 years now his major desire is to see people established in the Word of God, and in the local church.  He & his wife Sue have been married over 40 years. They have 3 grown children and several grandchildren.

John Cook has been in ministry now for over 50 years. He is a gifted teacher of the Word, and has been used by the Lord to speak and encourage the lives of many throughout his life and ministry. His mentorship and positive influence has helped several people grow to become leaders in the church themselves. John Cook has been serving in the capacity of the Assistant Pastor at By His Word since 1989. He has been married for 50 years and has 2 grown children.

John Scheerer has been serving as a leader at By His Word since 1997 and was ordained in 2003.  He has served as the Youth Pastor, Administrator and several other positions within the church over the years.  He is married and has 3 boys.

Lonnie and his wife Julie have attended By His Word since 1983.  Lonnie is a graduate of Rhema Bible Training Center in Tulsa, OK.  He has served in many capacities at the church over the years and now oversees the Men’s, Women’s, Singles, Married Couples and Sunday School ministries.  Lonnie and Julie have 2 children and 4 grandchildren.

Tammy has attended By His Word since 1985, has been serving as the Worship Pastor since 1996 and was ordained in 2003.   She has been teaching the weekly Women’s Bible Study for 3 years and has served in several other capacities within the church. She is married and has 3 children.

Pat Baldwin and his family have attended By His Word Christian Center for well over 20 years.  Pat has served at the church in several capacities and as a faithful leader and mentor he has touched many lives.  Pat and his wife Cindy have 8 children and 2 grandchildren.  Pat oversees the Ushers, Altar Workers, Prayer, Member Services, Espresso and Book/CD sales.

Mike and Isabel have been involved in CY from the time they were both students themselves.  Each of them grew up in our church and have been involved in leadership as students, young adults and now as Youth Pastors.  Pastor Mike and Isabel are committed to seeing a young generation revolutionized by Gods love.
